If Walls Could Talk...They'd Say Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Exploratory surgery of the house has revealed a 3' high nest of bees in the front room.

And that has only been the latest and greatest discovery in a list of progress being made in the house.

The first steps have been cleaning and demolition. The laundry room had soaked, moldy, mouse-dropping covered floors, so that was an obvious first step. The discovery of a perpetually soaked, and moldy subflooring wasn't too much of a surprise.

The walls were a must to come down, since this area would be sub-divided to allow for George's office.

The garbage pile grows daily.

In spite of removing all the carpeting and assundries, the house still smelled. Especially the front room. George wanted to take a peek under the subflooring to see what was what. While he undid the screws Kyra and Henry helped by gathering them up.

Under the subflooring...was more subflooring. And a HUGE 4' x 4' mold spot by the right front corner. No surprise, just outside is the unconnected downspout. Malik Harris and Brian Shearer were there to help pull out the subflooring in a night of destructive fun.

The mold was not only in the floor, but it went into the drywall. When they pulled this out is when the beehive was discovered in the front wall. ...and two ant nests and a few mice nests.

Rachel's pic below is much better than mine.

In other fun news we got cats. Considering the amount of mice nests, my cat will be nicely fed.
Maybe Schrödinger
